La Rochefoucauld in the Charente department was on our route from Limoges to Cognac as we followed D10 and D13, and we stopped just because the well-known chateau is so striking and the setting on the Tardoire river is so peaceful and attractive. The chateau dates from the 11th century, and the donjon is the part from that era that is seen today. The rest has been changed over the centuries to be a mostly Renaissance structure from the 14th through 17th centuries.
very nice so happy for you enjoying life around the world thinking of you love
