A jewel in St. Louis’s Missouri Botanical Garden

This outstanding conservatory of tropical plants is an award-winning, 70-foot-tall, 175-foot-across geodesic dome built in 1960. Elegantly positioned in the Missouri Botanical Garden with a rectangular lily pond in front of the entrance, it is beautiful from every angle inside and out. I was thrilled to get to visit it for the first time since school days, and had the additional delight of there being a “Chihuly in the Garden” exhibit.

See my related photo gallery of the grounds of the Missouri Botanical Garden, with more Chihuly in the Garden art works.
