About me

"Eternally single" and most often solo, with great talent for enjoying life, age no matter. I thrive on numerous passions: travel, classical music and opera, healthy gourmet food whether dining out or cooking in for friends old or new, wine, learning and using foreign languages, creating websites, teaching English, reading history and visiting historic sites, researching genealogy. Pat Patterson 2022

VagabondPat is the handle I chose after selling my home in Virginia, which I ran as Heaven Scent Bed and Breakfast from 2004 to 2021. I'm choosing to take a couple of years to decide where next to live. I've been thinking France, but it's not the only option, though it's where I'm looking most. Once I settle, I'll be blogging about making the international move and starting a new phase of life. I'll keep traveling as long as I can, as much as I can, possibly with short-term home swaps, and will recount the experiences here. The future of this site will also include cooking videos when I'm enjoying a new kitchen of my own - with whatever challenges it may pose - and the chance to explore new food markets. And always, I'll be looking for all the good concerts I can get to, and sharing those music events here.
